Harvest & Vase Life Guide

For the longest-lasting bouquets, follow these cutting and conditioning tips

Dahlia

4–6 days

Cut in the morning when fully open. Sear stem ends in boiling water for 30 seconds.

Zinnia

7–10 days

Harvest when stems are stiff and snap when bent. Strip lower leaves and place immediately in deep water.

Cosmos

5–7 days

Cut when petals just begin to unfurl. Remove all foliage below the water line.

Sweet Pea

4–5 days

Pick when the lowest flower is just opening. Keep cool and stand in deep water.

Sunflower

7–10 days

Harvest when petals start to lift from the centre. Re-cut stems every 2 days.

Snapdragon

7–10 days

Cut when 1/3 of florets are open. Remove lower leaves and keep upright in water.
